As a professional,  Bradford Registry Office Wedding Photographer,  we’re often surprised by some of the hidden and stunning architecture the city has to offer. The utilisation of the City Hall for weddings can only strengthen the city’s commitment to providing a beautiful backdrop for all kinds of special occasions.

This was our first wedding at the newly re-located Bradford Registry Office.

Once homed on Manor Row, the registry office is now part of the beautiful Gothic City Hall in the heart of Bradford.

Bradford City Hall originally opened in September of 1873, and has formed the backdrop for many film and television productions, such as ITV’S popular Emmerdale Farm, DCI Banks and more.

Recognised internationally by UNESCO, Bradford is the world’s first “City of Film”, a title celebrating the city’s rich film heritage.

Here are just a few photos taken from a recent wedding.

Devonshire Arms | Natalie & Hayley

Before we started, we knew today was going to be great fun wedding, all the ingredients we’re there….. lovely couple, arrival in helicopter, castle wedding and reception in the Yorkshire Dales. What more can a photographer ask for !!

Hayley and Natalie had meticulously planed every detail of their wedding with military precision, for us playing a small part, had to make sure all the guests we’re outside the Devonshire Arms for the arrival of Hayley and Natalie in the helicopter.

We started our day as usual with the bridal preparations before shooting off to meet the guests at The Devonshire Arms Hotel, our job was simple, “make sure the guests were outside for the surprise of seeing the girls arrive in a helicopter at 1pm” so, at 12.45 we invited all the guests to make their way outside for a group shot and a few family photos, and everything was going to plan when it started to rain just 5 minutes before the arrival of the helicopter!! and everyone rushed inside. Thinking quickly, we invited everyone for a photo with umbrellas and it worked, just as we got everyone outside the sun came out just as the helicopter arrived, phew!! what a relief….. There were only 4 of us knew of the surprise arrival in the helicopter so had to keep it from the guests.

What a brilliant way to make an entrance, everyone loved it…. After we quickly completed the family formal photos allowing everyone plenty of time for chatting with friends before boarding a 1948 Bristol vintage coach from Classic vehicles of Yester year in Baildon.

Winding our way through the dales, we slowly made our way to Skipton Castle for the wedding ceremony. Skipton Castle is just perfect for wedding photography, the Castle backdrop is so full of character and romance, we could have photographer the couple all day long.

Back at The Devonshire Arms, we settled down to creating the slideshow which featured a small selection of photos taken earlier in the day for everyone to enjoy during the evening celebrations.

The perfect end to a beautiful day.

Hoyle Court Wedding Photography | Elizabeth and Sam

Once again we’re back at the much loved Hoyle Court in Baildon, West Yorkshire, this lovely local venue is tucked away in a quiet corner and could easily be missed when passing.

Hoyle Court is a little gem, with a very quiet and secluded location, surrounded with trees and beautiful gardens, couples having their wedding here will enjoy having exclusive access to the whole venue. The well manicured, rear garden is completely enclosed and has the feeling of a hidden garden, which is all perfect for your photography.

Today this lovely venue is hosting the wedding reception and celebrations of Elizabeth and Samuel. Following their earlier ceremony at St John’s Church in Baildon, Unfortunately we had to cope with another grumpy vicar who wouldn’t allow us to take photos from a concealed position at the front of the church, but that’s the way it is sometimes! Never the less, with Brenda and me covering two positions at the back of the Church, we photographed the ceremony from two alternative perspectives, so managing to work around the vicar!!

If you’re getting married  and would like to know more about our wedding photography services, please call or email to arrange a no-obligation presentation in the comfort of your own home.
