Lineham Farm Wedding

We’d been looking forward Sam and Rachel’s Lineham Farm Wedding since they booked us over a year ago. They’ve given the whole event tremendous thought and  worked very hard to accumulate all the special details for their Harry Potter / Game of Thrones themed wedding style.

As a Yorkshire wedding photographer we’ve covered hundreds of venues but this was the first time we’d been to Lineham Farm.

Situated between Leeds and Harrogate, Lineham Farm is well known as a donkey sanctuary and educational children’s center, the working farm also hosts a large number of select weddings in beautifully rustic and picturesque surroundings.

The plan was to have the ceremony in the woods at the rear of Lineham Farm, and everyone was frantically checking the weather forecast by the minute, finally just an hour before the ceremony it was decided to proceed as the outlook was improving.

As the guests assembled and Sam waited nervously, the ring bearer and bridesmaids slowly made their entrance into the woods, shortly followed with Rachel accompanied by her proud farther smiling like a Cheshire cat.

Following the very intimate and personal ceremony everyone made their way to the drinks reception just as a few spots of rain started to fall and as it happened, this was the only rain we saw all day.

Brenda and I rapidly concluded the family formal photos just as a fight broke out between the medieval battle re-enactors, shouting and wielding their swords in quite realistic style the fight continued until its bloody end ( well pretend anyway) a very interesting scene.

Continuing with their theme, Sam had asked if we could create a photo with them running from Daenery Targaryen’s Dragon ( Game of Thrones Dragon) so naturally we obliged and took it a stage further and continued with Sam defending his new bride against a sword attack from a white walker.!! Personally I’m very happy the way the shots turned out…

As the perfect day continued through the reception and speeches, later we invited Sam and Rachel into the woods for their bride and groom photo shoot, some of the shots by the pond were taken with me upto my armpits in nettles !!. These shots and more from throughout the day were featured in our slideshow which was displayed during the evening, giving everyone a taste of our days photography, this is standard with all our wedding album packages.

Perfect end to a brilliant day, congratulations Rachel and Sam.

Aldwark Manor Wedding – Natalie and Solomon

Aldwark Manor Photograpy.

Aldwark Manor situated in the very heart of Yorkshire between York and Harrogate  was the choice of wedding venue for Natalie and Solomon.

The hotel is surrounded by 120 acres of parkland forming the perfect location for your wedding photographs.

The weather was unusually hot for the time of year and more like a fine summers day instead of a spring day in April. Following a traditional village wedding at St Mary’s Church in Alne it was back to Aldwark Manor for the rest of the days celebrations.

While in the warm sunshine guests enjoyed tasty canapés on the terrace as we started the family photos in the rear garden. Working to Natalie and Solomon’s list we quickly finished the formal photographs and moved onto some feature photos of Natalie and Solomon together in the grounds.

With all our wedding photography packages including those at Aldwark Manor, we offer an evening slideshow featuring about 70 fully edited photographs which is always a big hit with the wedding party.

Call or email to check availability and see how Graham Charles Photography can help create your perfect wedding album.

Wedding Photographer East Riddlesden Hall | Rebecca and Jason

Finally got around to up-dating our blog with the country- vintage styled wedding of Rebecca and Jason at East Riddlesden Hall.

If you’re recently engaged and looking for a venue full of charm a character, take a look at East Riddlesden Hall. We often don’t realise some of the natural beauty that’s right on our doorstep and East Riddlesden Hall is only a few miles from our home, it’s a beautiful place to photograph a wedding.

The Hall is now owned and run by the national trust, this 17th century manor house was originally built for a wealthy Halifax business man. The main house overlooks a large duck pond and a couple of barns one of which has been converted and used for the ceremony and wedding party.

Here’s just a small selection of our favourite photos, many of which were displayed on our evening slideshow giving everyone a sample of photos from earlier in the day.
